Tessica Brown, whose struggle with having Gorilla Glue on her hair became viral this month, finally got the help she needed, thanks to a generous surgeon. Her hair was finally fixed after a successful four-hour procedure.

The 40-year-old TikToker received an offer from Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng to undergo the procedure free of charge. Originally, the said procedure is worth around $12,500.

Tessica flew to Los Angeles for the roughly four-hour procedure. TMZ covered and shared footage of the procedure.

Dr. Obeng also shared a video of his own explaining the process behind what went down in fixing Tessica’s hair woe.

“I looked up the compound, the main active ingredient in Gorilla Glue, polyurethane, and we figured out the science and how to break it down. So I decided, we’re going to reinvent the wheel,” he said.

Tessica was put under light sedation for the procedure. Dr. Obeng dissolved the glue on her hair and scalp by using a combination of medical-grade adhesive remover, aloe vera, olive oil, and acetone.

This left her with hair stuck on her scalp. Various home remedies and a trip to the ER did not solve the problem. The Gorilla Glue company even tried to help by suggesting a fix, which didn’t work as well.

Dr. Obeng was very sympathetic towards Tessica’s situation and warned others to treat this as a cautionary tale.

“She’s been through a lot and I hope that you guys will learn from Tessica’s injuries or Tessica’s ordeal. Make sure that any time you guys grab something, make sure you read it.”

For now, Tessica will have to wait a while before she can put her hair up in a ponytail or use a hair weave. At least she gets to keep her current head of hair.
