A baby’s laugh usually begins with parents making faces and funny noises to get the baby excited and interested. Then they’d later realize that babies would laugh at even the simplest thing, like ripping up a piece of paper.

A video of an eight-month-old baby laughing hysterically while his father rips up a job rejection letter has become a YouTube hit after going viral a month after it was uploaded. In 2011, Marcus McArthur ripped up a job rejection letter piece by piece in front of his little boy, and it ended up making his son a social media star.

After hearing little Micah’s pure laughter, Marcus decided to grab his camera and started filming. He ripped his credit card statement in front of his son, and the trick worked instantly as the baby laughed hysterically once again.

Marcus uploaded the video clip on January 24, 2018, and saw relatively little traffic. But the video quickly became viral after being tweeted by actress Alyssa Milano. Within a few weeks, the adorable video had been viewed millions of times.

Milano tweeted:

“If this video doesn’t make you smile, check your pulse.”

Mother Mandi McArthur said:

“We were in shock – out of all the people that could tweet it or post it on their Facebook she’s the one I wanted to be as a kid.

He could show it to a future girlfriend.”

Eight years later, the clip has over 100 million views, making it one of the top viral videos on YouTube. Mr. and Mrs. McArthur have received offers from people wanting to buy rights to the video up to $300, but say it is just for fun and not for sale.

Baby laughing videos are hugely popular on the video-sharing website, with “Charlie bit my finger” video receiving 866million hits and more.
