  • A baby boy from North Cotabato, Philippines has gone viral because of his strange, vowel-less name.
  • Baby Ghlynnyl Hylhyr Yzzyghyl Mampuan Buscato was named by his grandfather Raugyl Ferolin Estrera.
  • According to Estera, he wanted the baby to have a unique name so he mixed letters from the names of the child’s parents, grandparents, and other relatives.

We’ve seen a lot of strange baby names go viral on social media in the past. Case in point, some of us may remember how a couple from Chhattisgarh, India decided to name their newborn twins as Covid and Corona despite opposition from relatives.

More recently, Slamet ‘Yoga’ Wahyud, a father from Central Java, Indonesia went ahead and boldly named his baby boy as ‘Dinas Komunikasi Informatika Statistik’ which literally means ‘Department of Statistical Communication.’ Apparently, he picked the long, unusual name as a tribute to his workplace.

A name without a vowel. Is that even possible?!

Now a baby boy from Carmen, Cotabato in the Philippines has been getting a lot of attention online because of – you guessed it – his strange name that’s just so difficult to spell because it doesn’t have a single vowel!

Meet baby “Ghlynnyl Hylhyr Yzzyghyl,” whose nickname is actually “Consonant.”

According to reports, baby Consonant’s grandfather Raugyl Ferolin Estrera came up with the name. Apparently, Estera wanted a name that’s just out of the ordinary. So combining letters from the names of the baby’s father, mother, grandmother, and other relatives, he ended up with Ghlynnyl Hylhyr Yzzyghyl.

Because of the one-of-a-kind spelling, they had to correct a mistake in the child’s birth certificate. And now they’ve been making sure all documents have his name spelled right.

“We’ll teach him how to properly write his name while he’s still young,” Estera shared. “And we’ll explain how we got it.”
