What would you do for an unlimited supply of fried chicken? One man decided to tell a local KFC that he has been sent from the head office for quality checks. As a result, he has been gorging himself on free fried chicken for a year before he was ultimately arrested.

The unnamed South African man had reportedly been telling employees of the fast food chain that he was sent from the KFC headquarters to conduct “quality checks.” In order for him to do so, he would be given fried chicken so he can taste whether the product is up to standard. Although the frequency of the visits was never specified, the man had allegedly been doing this for an entire year.

The unnamed man tricked KFC staff by claiming he is making quality checks.

According to staff members, the man, who has been revealed to be a student of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, usually arrived in a limousine. He would also be well-dressed and speak confidently, and even present an ID from “head office.” Needless to say, the con was so convincing that KFC employees always welcomed him.

“When he arrived we would all try to act our best so that we didn’t piss off the man from head office – he was so convincing because he was so confident, and even colleagues from other branches of KFC know him,” one staff member said. “When he came in, he rushed to the kitchen and checked everything, taking notes and then asked for samples of whatever he wanted. He probably worked for KFC before because he knows everything.”

Unfortunately, the con only lasted for a year. The man has reportedly been arrested and is expected to appear in court for what he has done.

The story was shared on social media by The African Voice.

Interestingly, some people are quite impressed with the man’s actions and believe he shouldn’t be thrown in jail. On the other hand, a few netizens claim that what he did is still a crime and he should be held accountable for tricking KFC employees.
