  • A pilot from American Airlines Flight 2292 recently reported how he spotted a “long cylindrical object” flying “really fast” over the skies of New Mexico.
  • In an official statement, the airline company later confirmed the radio transmission.
  • The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) also said they are “aware of the reported incident” but did not provide additional information.

An American Airlines pilot recently caught some attention online after sharing he spotted a strange flying object in the skies of New Mexico. The Flight 2292 pilot radioed at around 1PM on February 21, Saturday, saying he saw an unidentified object flying over their aircraft.

“Hate to say it, but it looked like a long cylindrical object going really fast like a cruise missile. It went right over the top of us,” he reported. Now UFO experts believe he may have seen something extraterrestrial.

Phoenix Lights Network CEO Dr. Lynne D. Kitei said about the mysterious sighting:

“The fact that it was a pilot and they were so excited about it tells you something. Because these are trained observers.”

The first statement from American Airlines initially said they “do not have any indication the radio transmission was from the flight crew on board American Airlines Flight 2292 on Feb. 21.“

However, they eventually issued another one, confirming:

“Following a debrief with our Flight Crew and additional information received, we can confirm this radio transmission was from American Airlines Flight 2292 on Feb. 21. For any additional questions on this, we encourage you to reach out to the FBI.”

Meanwhile, the FBI also released a statement about the mysterious encounter, saying:

“The FBI is aware of the reported incident. While our policy is to neither confirm nor deny investigations, the FBI works continuously with our federal, state, local, and tribal partners to share intelligence and protect the public. Anyone who is aware of suspicious or criminal activity should contact their local law enforcement agency or the FBI.”
