9-Year-Old Girl Creates Mobile Shelters for the Homeless and Grows Food For Them, Too
Kids normally spend their free time watching TV or playing, but a 9-year-old girl from Bremerton, Washington decided to do something extraordinary with her spare time.
At 9, Hailey Fort has already touched the lives of many homeless people. By building mobile shelters and growing food for them in her own garden, Hailey has made a huge difference in the lives of these people.
So what inspired the young girl to do such act of kindness?
When Hailey was 5 years old, her heart was broken after seeing a homeless man in her city. The young girl instantly went forward to help the man.
This event inspired Hailey to construct mobile shelters for the needy.
“It just doesn’t seem right that there are homeless people. I think everyone should have a place to live,” Hailey told King 5 News.
This 2015, Hailey aims to build 12 shelters, grow 250lbs of food, and provide thousands of toiletries for the homeless. Help her achieve her goal by supporting her GoFundMe campaign or by purchasing items on her Amazon ‘wedding registry’.
After age of 5, Hailey offered to buy a homeless man a sandwich.
The chance encounter inspired her to build mobile shelters for the needy.

With the help of discounts, Hailey was able to build mobile shelters that cost only $300 each.
Although she gets guidance from her parents, Hailey pretty much does most of the hard work.
Hailey also owns a little garden and plans to produce 250lbs of food this year.
The 8 x 4ft shelters are built using recycled denim insulation, pallets, and wheels so they can be moved.
Support Hailey’s noble cause by donating at her GoFundMe campaign or by purchasing items on her Amazon ‘wedding registry’.
