5-Year-Old Boy Makes Internet Swoon By Taking ‘Best Friend’ On Romantic First Date

Contrary to popular opinion, no, chivalry isn’t dead yet. One little boy from Christchurch in Dorset has made the internet swoon for showing everyone how to be a fine gentleman.

When Freddie Gibson, 5 years old, bugged his parents what a ‘date’ is – and after they took the time to explain it to him – he decided he wanted to go out with Dee Dee, his “best friend in the whole world.”

And he wanted everything to be perfect for their first date.

His first step was to send Dee Dee an invitation, asking her out for a date once she turned five, too.

5-year-old Freddie Gison took Dee Dee, his ‘best friend in the whole world,’ out on their first date.

Then came the real deal – Freddie started saving up his birthday money so he can pay for their meal. The romantic boy even got a new wallet where he can keep the cash.

Nina, his mom, was also part of the plan. He wanted to give Dee Dee some flowers so he asked her to make a mini bouquet. She was also there at the actual date so she can help them read the menu.

She shared:

“Katy (Jones, Dee Dee’s mother) and I have known each other since our antenatal classes and the children have always had an incredibly close friendship.

“Freddie had been talking about asking Dee Dee on a ‘date’ for a while, so as they’re both huge Pizza Express fans it seemed like the obvious place for them to go.

“It was just the cutest trip out ever and it was so wonderful to see them have such a great time.”

Freddie saved up his birthday money and took her to Pizza Express where the staff prepared some ice cream filled with hearts.

The restaurant staff also took the time to give the adorable young ‘couple’ a dessert decorated with hearts.

“I’d like to take Dee Dee on another date because she’s beautiful,” said Freddie.

Freddie admitted:

“Dee Dee is my best friend in the whole world and I loved our date. I’d like to take Dee Dee on another date because she’s beautiful.”

Dee Dee, on the other hand, said:

“I really enjoyed going on a date with Freddie – especially the hearts on our ice cream!”

“It was just the cutest trip out ever and it was so wonderful to see them have such a great time,” said Freddie’s mom.

Meanwhile, Katy commented:

“It really was the funniest thing, an invite in the post (once Dee Dee had reached the respectable age of 5), a tiny bouquet of flowers, a table for two by the window!

“They are polar opposites in personality but really are very fond of each other, Dee Dee has even picked out her wedding dress from the local boutique!”

Looks like these kids have a more colorful romantic life than you do.
