Women who have managed to maintain their youthful looks despite old age swear by exercise and healthy diet as their secrets to ageless beauty. One woman, however, has found her own secret to looking young – which is to brave the icy weather and go jog in snow.
Ukrainian Inna Vladimirskaya doesn’t let the cold get in the way of her beauty routine. In fact, she embrace sub-zero conditions. While people are bundling up in snow, she goes out to jog every weekend completely naked!
Inna, 32, believes jogging without clothes on out in the snow helps her maintain a youthful look.
She claims that the freezing temperatures are what keeps her looking healthy and young.
Not only that, she also goes for a swim in the icy waters.
For the last nine years, Inna has been taking a dip in the Dnieper river in Kiev.
Every weekend, Inna goes for a jog outside despite the freezing temperatures. Inna runs through the snow completely naked. Not only that, for the past nine years, she’s been swimming in the Dnieper river, also naked.
Czech photographer David Tensinsky captured some shots of Inna going on her routine jog and swim, after hearing stories from locals who regularly see her go for a skinny dip.
“Every week I take a run in the snow and then plunge into the water.”
As to why she believes her beauty routine works, Inna has this for her explanation.
‘Immersion in cold water makes the blood rush to the internal organs, activating their circulation, which helps break down fat and improve muscle tone.’
She adds that the cold helps relieve muscle and joint pains.
The increase in oxygen supply also helps rejuvenate her skin. Furthermore, she believes that humans can reap the benefits of rejuvenation through cold waters, just like how it is for the walruses.
“The walrus looks much younger than its actual age because it spends so much time in cold water. ‘Humans can reap the same benefits if they are prepared to put the hard work in.”
If you think you’re up for this kind of beauty regimen, Inna has a few tips. She said that she doesn’t spend too long in the icy waters. After which, she goes to her car to warm herself up.
