There are times when you just want to be alone, curl up in bed, get a good book to read until it puts you to sleep. Fun times like taking a detour to your favorite café or bookstore and even a quiet time in the library which is enough to make your day. These are only some of the things that only “bibliophiles” will understand.

But how about getting all that in one?

This book haven in Tokyo, Japan named Book and Bed Tokyo is a dream come true for bookworms and a breath of fresh air for travelers. Designed by Makoto Tanijiri and Ai Yoshida of Suppose Design Office, the bookstore-themed hostel offers more fun, stylish and cozy place for customers especially those who love to read. There are bookshelves and sleeping lofts beside them which makes it different from the conventional hostels and capsule hotels that we have today.

“Our concept is thus a readers haven – an accommodation bookshop. Books aren’t sold, though. It’s just an expression.”

Sleeping compartments are available in two sizes.

The ‘Compact’ compartment measures 205 x 85 centimeters (80.7 x 33.5 inches) while ‘Standard’ is 205 x 129 centimeters (80.7 x 50.8 inches).

They have about 1,700 Japanese and English Language books and a plan to expand its library to 3,000 books is in the works too.

With books as our central theme, we decided to create a hostel offering the greatest “moment of sleep.”

There are 30 beds-12 single-occupant bookshelf sleeping compartments and 18 bunk spaces.

If you plan to stay the night here, the rate ranges from 3,800 to 6,000 yen or US $32 to $50, depending on your preferred accommodation size.

Quite a great deal for people who love both travel and literature.
