Student Rushed To Hospital After Crying Non-Stop During ‘Avengers: Endgame’

It’s safe to say that “Avengers: Endgame,” the grand finale of phase three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is an absolute show-stopper. Set to be the highest-grossing movie of all time, the epic blockbuster sees our heroes in one final effort to defeat Thanos following his cataclysmic snap.

Most viewers said that “Avengers: Endgame” is not only the longest one of the franchise, but it is also the most emotional. In fact, Captain America himself Chris Evans admitted that he cried six times watching the blockbuster film! But one Chinese woman had to be rushed to the hospital when she cried for three hours while watching the movie.

The 21-year-old woman named Xiaoli was watching “Avengers: Endgame” during the premiere on April 24, Wednesday, with her friends. While others were merely sobbing at a certain sad scene, the university student was bawling her eyes out. Even when the credits rolled, she could not stop crying.

While leaving the cinema, Xiaoli felt a tightness in her chest and found it difficult to breathe. Suddenly, her limbs felt numb, and she collapsed into a spasm and her fists were clenched tightly. Her friends, understandably frightened by her condition, quickly called an ambulance and she was rushed to the hospital.

The doctors who examined her revealed that the girl suffered from hyperventilation. This is a condition that occurs when the individual cries continuously for hours.

The doctor said:

“I saw her gasping for air, and based on her friends’ description; we figured she must’ve cried too much which resulted in hyperventilation. We then immediately put on an oxygen mask for her and tried to calm her down so her symptoms would go away.”

Xiaoli was discharged from the hospital the same evening.

Let this be a cautionary tale for everyone who hasn’t watched “Avengers: Endgame” yet — be sure to drink lots of water because you might get dehydrated from the tears you shed.
