Being able to make a difference in someone else’s life does not have to be expensive, utterly grand and magical. As long as you do it from the heart, people will see and appreciate even the simplest acts.

One Starbucks barista sure knows how to make her customer smile in the simplest yet most touching way. This is because she learned sign language just so she could accommodate one of their regular customer who is deaf.

Customer Ibby Piracha went to his usual branch of Starbucks one Friday afternoon for frapuccino. While there is nothing extraordinary with this routine, he was taken aback when one familiar barista greeted him and asked for his order using American Sign Language.

Ibby usually pre-type his order in his mobile phone or send a text message to the barista on duty. That time, he did not need to for someone who completely understands him was behind the counter.

The barista even left a touching note for Ibby, who later posted it in his Facebook page.

Here is the sweet note:

Oh, I gotta love this place. Starbucks woman cashier, she wrote it to me and she knew I am deaf. I am surprised she…

The barista behind the sweet gesture is Krystal Payne, a 24-year-old woman who reportedly watched YouTube videos over and over just to learn sign language.

“My job is to make sure people have the experience they expect, and that’s what I gave him,” she said.

Ibby hopes that Payne’s gesture would raise awareness about the deaf community. He said on Twitter that normal people do not need to communicate with them in a loud and overly animated way. Deaf people can actually read lips so they don’t need to be talked to like they are mentally challenged.

Wow, that barista is surely an inspiration. We think the message is for us to try and go the extra mile for the service of others. More than doing her job, she helped inspired many people and that we think, is the most rewarding feeling.

Can you imagine how difficult it is for parents to feed babies who hate green beans or any other vegetable for that matter?

Feeding time may feel more like a creativity challenge for those moms and dads. And they are probably always trying to think of new ways to hide those veggies and get their kids to open their mouths.

If you have the same predicament with your child, and if you've tried the usual airplane or train (or whatever vehicle you can think of) method and the food only end up catapulting in the air, you might want to try this approach.

Parents and Their Children Claim They Will Never Stop Kissing Each Other on the Lips

Is it really inappropriate to kiss your children on the mouth?

Do you kiss your children on the lips? And how do you usually react when you see a grown man or woman still kissing their parents on the mouth?

According to Dr. Charlotte Reznick, author of The Power Of Your Child's Imagination, the lips are an “erogenous zone, and feel-good chemicals that are associated with sexual arousal - including serotonin and oxytocin - are released through lip-kissing.”

Therefore, she said it’s wrong for parents to kiss their children on the mouth---at any age---because it’s excessively sexual. Dr. Reznick, a child analyst from UCLA even warns parents that “a pure peck on the lips could cause a confusion for their child,” the Parent Herald reports.
