Logan Kruckenberg-Anderson allegedly placed his newborn daughter on a tree and shot her twice in the head. This he did days after his girlfriend gave birth in a bathtub.

The teenager from Wisconsin was charged with first-degree intentional homicide for killing his baby girl, who was named Harper. The incident happened in Albany, a village in Green County.

Logan told the police that he left Harper to die in the snow in a wooded area because he and his girlfriend decided they couldn’t look after the child. The police said that later on, Logan admitted to shooting the baby twice in the head and attempted to hide the body.

The corpse was discovered days after, riddled with bullets and with shell casing nearby.

According to the filed criminal complaint on January 12, his girlfriend gave birth to Harper in the bathtub of her home. After four days, a man got in touch with Green County Sheriff’s Department saying that his daughter had given birth but that Logan had taken the newborn and they had not seen her since then.

The baby’s mother, who has not been named, told the authorities that she and Logan had decided they couldn’t keep Harper and planned for Logan to take the infant to a friend, who would take Harper to an adoption agency in Madison.

When the police questioned Logan about it, he allegedly claimed to have met his friend “Tyler” at a park on January 5 and gave him the baby. Logan also gave the friend $60 to take the infant to the agency.

The complaint states that Logan didn’t know “Tyler’s” last name, phone number, and residence. Instead, he gave a physical description and the SUV that “Tyler” was allegedly driving. He said he and the man met on Snapchat’s quick add feature and that “Tyler” blocked him later on.

When the police came back to interview Logan the next day, his story allegedly changed, saying that he and the girlfriend decided to get rid of the child and leave her somewhere.

He placed the baby in his backpack and went over to his mother’s house, where he put the child in a bigger backpack and headed to a remote wooded area. There he placed the naked baby in a snow-covered tree. He covered the baby in snow and left, knowing that she will would die from the elements.

When the police found the baby’s body, Logan’s story changed again, this time admitting to shooting his own daughter. Harper was alive she was shot, according to the autopsy.

As for the gun, the police was able to locate it after another teenaged handed over a firearm and said Logan gave it to him three days after the infant went missing.

Logan appeared in court on January 12. Green County Circuit Judge Thomas Vale set the bail at $1 million. Under Wisconsin law, “anyone aged 10 and older is charged automatically as an adult when faced with a charge of first-degree intentional homicide.” Logan will be given a life sentence if convicted.
