Plastic pollution remains to be one of the most serious environmental challenges across the world today. Fortunately, we’re seeing a lot of brilliant minds working together to come up with solutions and alternatives to address the problem.

There are, however, some people who have shown that it’s possible to combine their love of nature with sense of humor. Case in point, some offices in Israel had the funny idea of reducing single plastic use among their workers by posting photos of Greta Thunberg.

So.. Is this genius or ridiculous?

According to a Bored Panda feature, several offices in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv have been spotted using the teen activist’s photos to discourage employees from using plastic cups and utensils.

Even Haaretz, Israel’s longest running newspaper, joined in on the fun.
Are you really sure?
Now this was how some workers tried to avoid Greta’s judging eyes…

Pretty hilarious, right?

Perhaps not surprisingly, the bizarre anti-plastic initiative has since sparked mixed reactions from netizens on social media. While others simply laughed it off, there are also those who said it they find it inappropriate that people are making fun of the young environmental advocate.

Greta Thunberg, 16, has become a household name after boldly addressing world leaders at the United Nations Climate Action Summit, calling them out for their lack of action on many crucial issues.

“People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are collapsing…” she told them, “and all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth.”

The teen from Sweden has since gained a lot of supporters and critics after delivering the message.
