Nobody Wants to Date Her Before, But After Her Transformation From Punk to Class… WOW!

How you present yourself in public often shows what you think about yourself. A woman may wear a very short skirt because she thinks its comfortable and pretty, or wear tight leather jeans, multiple piercings, or a mohawk because she thinks its cool. Generally, there is nothing wrong with that.

Sadly, we are bound in a society where physical appearances do matter and where anything outside the norm can stir up fear and misunderstandings. I guess that’s why there has always been an unresolved debate about appearances. Some say that it doesn’t really matter what others think of you… or does it? Because most of the time, our appearances can influence how others behave towards us.

Mel, a 28-year old neon punk can attest to that. She loves studs, leather, tattoos, and even had her hair dyed pink. Her mom says that some people look at her as if she’s a ‘scum’, and she is ashamed of her daughter sometimes. But Mel only thinks that people find her intimidating and it doesn’t really bother her. For Mel, its her way of showing the world her true self.

Well, Mel was astonished to see a different version of herself when she was asked to participate in a British reality show that celebrates the natural beauty of women. The show “Snog, Marry, Avoid?”, gives women extreme make-overs (or make-under in most cases) by a computer stylist called Personal Overhaul Device (POD). After the make-over, they would ask the public about what they thought of the person’s new look, and whether it would make the public want to snog(kiss), marry, or avoid the person. In Mel’s case, 70% of the population wanted to snog her, and 30% wanted to marry her. What’s more fascinating is that Mel had never thought she’d look as sexy as she did after the whole process.

I’m not exaggerating when I say that I was really surprised when I saw Mel’s new look!
