Gone are the days when airplanes are just merely a means of transportation. Now, a lot of powered fixed-wing aircraft will not only take you from one place to another but they can allow you to fly in style.

Emirates shared a picture of their “Bling” 777 – which most took as a reference to the Boeing 777 aircraft – encrusted with diamonds and the internet has gone all wild. The Dubai based Arline carrier is known to have one of the best hospitality and entertainment in the industry. And it is also known to do extraordinary stuff – just look at this blinged-out aircraft.

Emirates Airline posted the photo on Twitter, and captioned it:

“Presenting the Emirates ‘Bling’ 777.”

In the image, the aircraft will be seen parking in a terminal as it glistened from all its sparkles. The perfect shade of the sky also added to the dreamy effect of the whole picture.

As expected, many were excited to see the plane in real life. Some may even be lucky enough to fly in it.

However, many were also left wondering whether the picture of the “diamond studded” aircraft was indeed the latest plane of Emirates. While a lot of people were excited to book their next flight in the “Bling” 777, many speculated that the image was fake.

As it turns out, it really wasn’t real. The photo is simply an artwork by Pakistani crystal artist Sara Shakeel. The former dentist was on her way to Milan from Pakistan and decided to give an Emirates plane an “upgrade” by editing a photo of it and adding some crystals, diamonds, and sparkling specks of dust to it.

Emirates liked Shakeel’s work so much that they posted it on social media, probably not realizing that many would fall for it.

With Dubai’s penchant for everything glamorous and glittering, this plane would have fit right in.
