It’s always amazing when we hear about people doing their part to make the world a better place – like Lauren Puryear of Woodbridge, New Jersey.
This kindhearted 29-year-old woman has set an overwhelming goal to provide 30,000 meals to needy people by her 30th birthday.
Laueuryear, 29, of Woodbridge, New Jersey set a goal to provide 30,000 meals to people in need by her 30th birthday.
Since grandmother died in 2012, Lauren has been striving to help feed the hungry. She said her grandma taught her about the importance of helping others and so she eventually started the For The Love Of Others organization which aims to help people “through providing opportunities to enable them to live a purposeful life,” according to its website.
Inspired by her kind grandmother, Lauren established For The Love Of Others organization in 2012.
The group aims to provide “opportunities to enable (needy people) to live a purposeful life.”
Lauren recently discovered couponing and has since been thrilled to know it can be an effective tool in her project of feeding thousands.
“I started couponing for food items like spaghetti, meatballs, and I was (often) able to get the items for free or for little to no money.”
According to her, couponing has allowed her to feed as much as 150 individuals for just $20, depending on the food items.
With the help of couponing, Lauren is able to feed people “for free or little to no money.”
“There are coupons in the Sunday paper, or online that you can print … so I collect as many as I can, match them to the store and that is how I am able to get the items for free.”
According to her, helping others is “probably the most exhilarating thing I could ever do in life.”
“The joy of helping other people does not compare to any other accomplishment in my life,” said Lauren.
Currently working as a mental health clinician, Lauren holds four degrees, including a bachelor’s degree, two masters degrees, and a Ph.D. in psychology. She, however, is quick to point out that feeding the hungry is definitely her passion. She describes it as “probably the most exhilarating thing I could ever do in life.”
Lauren also added:
“The joy of helping other people does not compare to any other accomplishment in my life.
“The little things we take for granted, the food we throw away every day … and if we just spread a little more love around, the world would be such a better place.”
We couldn’t help but agree. You are an inspiration to many, Lauren!
