Gringo the Mustached Kitty is One of the Internet’s Most Famous Cats Right Now
So “mustached” cats are not so unique nowadays. The internet has conjured images of white kitties with black markings above their upper lip, making them look like they have mustaches.
So what makes Gringo special?
He has a white “mustache” right under his nose, which stands out from his brown face.

The shape of his marking is just like a real-life mustache!
The one-year-old British Shorthair instantly became an Instagram star.

His special white mark makes him look like a sophisticated gentleman.

Gringo lives in France together with his humans Romain and Sabine. He has brother named Milko.

“Gringo is a happy kitty, full of life and with a really nice personality. He loves to play all day and all night, get up to mischief like climbing on curtains, scratching the couch and jumping in the plants,” says owner Sabine.

“He likes to stand on his back paw, just like a meerkat. He can stay a couple of minutes in that position, and it’s hilarious. Gringo’s looks are definitely unique, and so is his attitude.
“Gringo always sniffs our plates to see if there’s something good for him to eat, and he likes to steal our sponge from the kitchen just to chew it, so we have to hide it every time.”
She and Romain found Gringo on a popular French cattery website.

At the time, they already have Milko but they were thinking of getting a second cat.
Gringo was just three months old when they brought him home – he and Milko became bestfriends instantly.

“The British Shorthair is mellow and easygoing, making him an excellent family companion,” according to Cat Time. “He enjoys affection, but he’s not a “me, me, me” type of cat. Expect him to follow you around the house during the day, settling nearby wherever you stop.”
“This is a cat with a moderate activity level. He’s energetic during kittenhood, but usually starts to settle down by the time he is a year old. More mature British Shorthairs are usually couch potatoes, but adult males occasionally behave like goofballs. When they run through the house, they can sound like a herd of elephants.”
