  • Videos of the said stunt went viral online. Authorities ended up fining both Target and the group for violating existing health protocols.

A group of protesters recently caught a lot of attention after running and dancing around a Target store in Florida while shouting “take off your masks.” The said stunt generally gained negative reactions not only among fellow shop goers but also among netizens who eventually watched the footage that went viral online.

In the said video, some of the anti-maskers can be heard yelling “we’re not going to take it any more” as they removed their masks and urged other shoppers to do the same.

“We’re Americans, breathe,” screamed a female protestor. “It’s all a lie!”

The group, consisting of adults and children, waved their masks around while signing along to Twisted Sister’s hit track “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”

Not surprisingly, the stunt later made headlines and videos quickly made rounds on social media.

It’s a “moronic cause,” according to Dee Snider.

The Twisted Sister singer took it upon himself to slam the group’s irresponsible actions on Twitter, specifying they do not have his “blessing or permission to use my song for their moronic cause.”

Meanwhile, a FOX report tells us that Broward County officials immediately acted on the incident. According to an article, Target was “fined for not enforcing the county’s mask law and citations were mailed to the protesters.”

“Any additional participants from the video that are able to be identified will also receive $100 citations in the mail,” according to Margaret Stapleton, spokeswoman of Broward County.
