It seems that countless individuals wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life to be one with nature. Some people want to build a house somewhere deep in the woods while others have expressed their desire of staying in an underwater hotel. Fortunately, there are unconventional developers out there who want to help people realize these fantasies.

In 2015, the Kleindienst Group was given permission to build the Floating Seahorse —an apartment complex consisting of 42 villas.

Each villa will have its plot in the Persian Gulf as part of the World Island Projects, the Daily Mail reports.

The Floating Seahorse villas are, technically, three-story luxury boats without propulsion.

Still, each unit is movable. This makes the place all the more perfect for people who want to keep their privacy.

The upper deck will have a shower, a small cooking area, a mini bar, and a Jacuzzi with a glass floor.

At the central floor you’ll have a spacious living space surrounded by a fully furnished kitchen and a dining area.

At the lower level—underwater—you’ll find the master’s bedroom and a bathroom. Here, you will be able to enjoy the spectacular view of the rich, marine life around you.

Each unit has a floor area of approximately 1,700 square feet. All levels will be made of glass from floor to ceiling. It will actually be like living in a fancy aquarium.

However, there’s more to these lavish homes; the developers are planning to create an artificial coral reef beneath them to help protect endangered seahorses.

Josef Kleindienst, CEO of Kleindienst Group, said, “The seahorse is an endangered species, and we will create an artificial coral reef beneath the luxury retreats, which will be a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed.”

Isn’t that wonderful?

The CEO reckons that the Floating Seahorse will be launched by the end of this year.

“Many months of research, design and planning have gone into The Floating Seahorse and we are excited to be able to officially launch and build it in Dubai.

“We’re confident it will set a new benchmark in the luxury lifestyle market worldwide for outstanding innovation, contemporary design and underwater living at its best.

“Since launching ‘The Floating Seahorse,’ we have been inundated with local, regional and international enquiries.

‘We’re excited to not just offer people a once in a lifetime investment opportunity in Dubai but on a global scale.

“The Floating Seahorse is not restricted to Dubai waters and can be designed and fabricated in Dubai for other resorts and destinations worldwide,” Kleindienst said.

The price of each unit is yet to be determined.
