All the while we thought that dogs can only be trained to sniff bombs and drugs. Apparently, they can also act as live MRIs that can detect serious health problems hiding beneath your skin. There are no scientific explanations yet or studies that claim dogs can smell illnesses, but this pup surely had some amazing way of saving her human from a deadly health condition.
Keola, an American Akita, seems to have a strong sixth sense which helped her detect her owner’s hidden sickness. She obsessively followed her owner, Alhanna Butler who happened to be pregnant that time. Nothing could calm Keola until her owners grew suspicious of her behavior. Thanks to her persistence in sending signals, Keola was able to help Alhanna and her baby escape from death.
A mom-to-be and her son were saved from death, thanks to their loyal pup named Keola.
Ricky and Alhanna’s family is growing bigger as they are expecting a baby boy to join them in their home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. However, Alhanna didn’t have a smooth time in carrying her baby most especially when she started experiencing pain in her lower back. She brought her concern to her doctor, but she was advised that the severe pain was only a side effect of her pregnancy.
Alhanna has been experiencing severe back pains during her pregnancy which doctors said were only side effects of her growing baby.
But Keola knew better and kept sticking with her owner for reasons Alhanna and her husband can’t figure out.
Alhanna then went home relieved but Keola wasn’t as confident and convinced. Alhanna’s furry friend kept acting weird, but she had zero idea what she was up to. She explained:
“When the doctors sent me home and said there was nothing seriously wrong, she just sat staring at me so intently that it really scared me.
I posted a picture of her doing this on Facebook and make the joke about the film Hatchi where the dog also does this and suddenly my friends all started saying I should take it seriously.”
The pup continued to act weird until Alhanna decided to go for another round of checkup.
Once taking for granted what Keola wanted to tell, the dog became more nosey, this time alarming Ricky and Alhanna. Fortunately, Alhanna looked at the dog’s warning signs and went back to the hospital for another check-up. She was then rushed into intensive care after doctors found out that the mom-to-be had been mere moments away from death. She said:
“No one really understood how ill I was – but Keola did. She would nudge me and cry and I could never figure out why she had suddenly started doing this. Ricky said she was distraught whenever I went to work, when she had never minded before.”
Shockingly, Alhanna had been suffering from a rare infection which caused her back pains.
Thanks to the nosey pup, Alhanna and her baby were saved from almost being dead.
Apparently, Alhanna had a double kidney infection which was causing her back pains. What’s worse is that it was a rare type of infection that she barely reached the hospital in time to receive care. Alhanna took to Facebook to share about the horrible experience writing:
“Because it was untreated for so long, it was one of the worst cases they had ever seen.
On top of that I had an antibiotic resistant bug that had only ever affected one other person in the U.K. It was killing me and the doctors told me that if I had left it any longer I would have died and more than likely my son also.”
Lincoln was delivered safe and sound and is now the new best friend of Keola.
Alhanna was able to survive her health issues and now enjoys her healthy baby boy they named Lincoln. Thanks to Keola’s amazing illness-sniffing ability to see what’s wrong and her loyalty, she was able to save two lives.
Australia’s Rare Tree-Kangaroos Are Among The Cutest Animals on Earth
Sad that they are under constant threat of facing extinction though.
When we think of Australia, it seems kangaroos are one of those that instantly pop up in our minds. Members of the marsupials, these creatures have become the living icon of the country but over the years, you have probably not heard of the tree-kangaroo.
In a sense, tree-kangaroos are very much similar to regular kangaroos. The only difference is that they are fluffier and, more importantly, resemble small tree-dwelling bears. Hence the name. Although most of them call the Land Down Under a home, some of them exist in New Guinea.
Tree-kangaroos are also known for being elusive. This is why little to none is known about them and their behavior. While it is true that their exact population remains to be seen, they are said to face the constant threat of being hunted. This is not to mention the ongoing habitat destruction.
Researchers believe that if these threats continue, these creatures will soon become extinct. Interestingly, the first tree-kangaroo born in captivity in more than three decades was welcomed to the world. It was held at the Perth Zoo, representing a hope for these creatures to survive. ...
Japanese Diver Befriends Weird-Looking Fish For 25 Years
Sebastian is not the only friendly fish in the world with Yoriko of Japan keeping his loyalty to his diver friend.
Among the animals in the world, the dogs and cats are the most typical kinds to care as pets because they are warm, sociable and they display emotions as if they were humans too. As for sea creatures, no one of us probably imagined being best friends with fishes except for that tight relationship we saw between Ariel and Sebastian in a Disney film.
Surely, we have close encounters with dolphins. They let us feed them, they let us swim with them, they cling to us and do some more staff with us. Fishes are not the same. We can put a goldfish in a tank, but they are not as sociable as dolphins. Sheepshead Wrasses though can be different.
This diver and fish have been best friends for 25 years now.
Yoriko, an Asian sheepshead wrasse who lives off the coast of Japan maintained over two decades of friendship with a local diver named Hiroyuki Arakawa. The two has been constantly greeting each other for 25 years now, where Yoriko welcomes Arakawa every time he tends a Shinto shrine under the waves....

The young long-tailed macaque suffered caffeine overdose after it imitated a human drinking coffee.
We thought that drinking coffee will keep you awake. Coffee has caffeine, which alerts the receptors in the brain keeping us awake. However, like any other substance, one can suffer an overdose. For humans with higher tolerance, high levels of caffeine may cause faster palpitations of the heart.
