Australia Is The Safest Country In The World For Women, Study Finds
For the second time in a row, Australia has been named the safest country in the world for women. The list was compiled from data from consultancy New World Health, released in its 2019 Global Wealth Migration Review.
One of the topics covered in the document was women’s safety. With Australia nabbing the top spot, Malta, Iceland, New Zealand, and Canada are noted as other safest places for women.

In order to come up with the top five safest countries, the research group, based in Johannesburg South Africa looked at a number of factors including economic growth, press freedom, and women’s safety.
The report said:
“This means that wealth growth is boosted by strong levels of woman safety in a country.”
To get their results, researchers checked the statistics related to rape, slavery, human trafficking, and assaults in general on women in the year 2018.
The report also noted that out of 195 countries, only 58 had reasonably reliable crime statistics. It also stated that Australia has the world’s leading economy per capita, and its safe status had encouraged that wealth growth.

Another reason for Australia to get the status of the leading economy was the country’s high minimum wage. At the same time, the country has been a favorite for most millionaires as they saw it has the best place on the basis for the long-term prospect. Australia is also known to attract many tourists throughout the year.
Aside from Australia, Malta, Iceland, New Zealand, and Canada, the report listed also included Switzerland for Europe, America for North America, Japan, and South Korea for the Asia Pacific and Mauritius, Botswana, and Namibia for Africa as the safest countries for women.
Meanwhile, other major European cities like London and Paris have become less safe for women over the years. It is worth noting that the result was as of 2018.
