They say you’re never truly successful in your career if you’re not happy with your job. So one woman took it upon herself to create something that she enjoys and can earn big from at the same time.

After graduating with a degree in events management, Victoria Murphy launched her firm Glimmer. She quit her job as a beautician to work as a naked cleaner. Now, Victoria runs her own business charging up to £75 (approx. US$ 98.11) an hour to scrub people’s homes in the buff.

Victoria was keen to start a business with a quirky, unique selling point and began considering the adult service sector. When working as a beautician, she stumbled across an American company offering a naked cleaning service, and the idea for Glimmer was born.

She said:

“I knew I wanted something which would be fun and risqué but not extreme. We are not an escort service. What we offer is fun and flirty. When I did it for a while, I had a laugh, and nothing untoward happened.”

But before she started recruiting, the 25-year-old first tested her new job by cleaning homes in Edinburgh while wearing nothing. She said that she didn’t want to put her staff into any situation she hadn’t experienced herself.

Glimmer offers three services. Cleaning while wearing lingerie or underwear will cost £55 (US$ 71.95) per hour, topless cleaning £65 (US$ 85.03) an hour, and totally naked cleaning at £75 for the hour.

Victoria noted that none of her staff are forced to do anything they’re uncomfortable.

Prospective employees haven’t been put off by the dress code, with Victoria receiving 100 applications the last time she advertised for recruits.

Victoria admits that their 20 regular clients and 15 who book an occasional clean, have completely shattered her preconceptions about the type of person she imagined would use the service.

She said:

“I thought we’d get mostly professional working men in their forties, but actually, the clients are much more diverse. “

Victoria uses social media and advertises in free listings.
