Old Man Buys Brand New Motorcycle Using Coins He Saved For Two Years

These days, it is much easier to buy things because there are now lots of options for installment plans. In fact, you can now easily get a motorcycle on credit for a three-year payment scheme.

However, if you really think about it, buying things on credit would make you pay much more than the asking price. If you add up all the monthly amortizations and the down payment, you’ll realize you might already be paying twice the unit’s price! So an old man from the Philippines had a better idea to afford the motorcycle that he really wanted.

Rodrigo M. Cosio is a very patient man. While others wait for a few days to contemplate on whether to buy the item or not, the impressive old man from Dumangas, Iloilo waited for two years.

You see, instead of impulsively buying a brand new motorcycle on credit, Rodrigo decided to save up for it. The old man proved to everyone that if you want something, you have to work hard for it even if it requires years of waiting.

Rodrigo quickly went viral after he went to a motorcycle dealer to buy a unit. He was able to buy a brand new motorcycle in cash, using Php 10 coins (US$ 0.19) that he saved for two years.

The story was shared on Facebook by a netizen name Angel Gel Azarb, who works at the motorcycle dealership in Barangay Tabucan, Dumangas, Iloilo. Angel was so impressed with Rodrigo that she uploaded photos of him on the social media platform.

By looking at the photos, the staff seemed to have a bit of a hard time counting all the coins, but they for sure had fun doing it as they were all inspired by Rodrigo’s patience and discipline.

It is indeed an inspiration especially for the younger generation who are very impulsive when buying random stuff that they don’t really need.
