Military Dad Appears at a Florida Football Game to Surprise His 4 Kids
I can only imagine how hard it must be for soldiers and their families to be separated in the name of serving the country, especially if these men and women in uniform are sent to dangerous places like Afghanistan. Imagine how it feels to wait for your husband or father to come home from overseas, with their future uncertain.
Now these kids, who are the children of Chief Warrant Officer Kristian Denkins, miss their dad terribly. So while they are waiting for him to come home from Afghanistan, they entertained themselves by watching a Florida Gators game with their mom. To their surprise, they were invited to come to the field to watch a special videotaped message from their daddy, who they assumed was still in Afghanistan.
They were surprised to see Daddy’s special message for them…
“Gator Nation, the best fans in the country, I wish I could be there to cheer on Florida for a Gator victory. To join arm in arm, to sway side to side, and to sing ‘We are the Boys From Old Florida’,” Denkins said.
“To my wife, my children, my mother and father – I miss you. I love you. I’ll be home soon. I promise. Go Gators!”
But there was a bigger surprise in store for them. Watch the video to see what it was:
A cheering throng of 90,000 witnessed this emotional family reunion…
Needless to say, it became an emotional moment for the Denkins family. The kids were not expecting him to be home for several more months. The reunion was plotted by the officer himself, along with his wife and Florida Gators head coach Jim McElwain.
