Mexican Drug Lord Heirs Show off Their Wealth in #Narco Instagram War

This is what it’s like to be the heir to Mexico’s powerful drug lord cartels.

Many of us use Instagram not only to update our friends about our latest getaways, or inform them of a snippet of our lives. One of the most useful and addicting feature of Instagram is that it gives us the capability to sneak a peek into the lives of celebrities, our idols or pretty much anyone we take a fancy to follow.

Due to this share-all, bare-all culture in social media, sometimes people try to post pictures to “outdo” one another. And this becomes a “tweet war” or “Insta war”.

A few months back the hashtag #Narcostyle and the IG account #narcoofficial (deleted since then) became trending due to the posts that show the extravagant lifestyle of drug cartel heirs and heiresses in Mexico. These rich, spoiled kids post confirmations of their wealth trying to outdo one another and become “Narco king”.

Generally the posts on their displays of wealth revolve around a few themes:

  1. Money
  2. Exotic or endangered pets
  3. Luxury Cars
  4. Deadly weaponry
  5. Designer items
  6. Women, parties and more women!
  7. See for yourself some examples of those extravagant IG posts below!

Designer bags are expensive enough, but money spilling over those bags? Outrageous!

Some pranks can be so insensitive they’re just not worth laughing at.

Some pranks can be so insensitive they’re just not worth laughing at. Like this one that recently happened in a McDonald’s store in the UK.

4-year-old Kaya Langmead was at the popular fast food restaurant with Nicole, her mother, when she was victimized by a couple of teenage pranksters.

Kaya wanted to go to the bathroom on her own just “like a big girl” and Nicole consented. Before Kaya entered the bathroom, Nicole noticed two young girls laughing while exiting the room. Nicole didn’t pay them any attention but she didn’t have any idea what was in store for her poor daughter. ...
