Hindu Man Mistakenly Eats Beef, Begs Supermarket For Tickets To India For Cleansing

The supermarket sold the man a package of beef that was mislabeled as lamb.

One of the most well-known facts about Hinduism is that cows are sacred to the religion. Unfortunately for one Hindu man, he mistakenly ate beef that was labeled as ‘lamb’. Now he is begging the supermarket that sold him the meat to pay for his flights to India so he can be cleansed after breaking his vow.

Jaswinder Paul of Blenheim, New Zealand purchased a package of lamb roast from the local Countdown supermarket. Although he cooked and ate the meat without any thought, it has since been revealed that the package of beef was mislabeled. Paul was horrified when he realized that he had eaten beef since the purification process is a difficult one.

Paul has suffered a lot since mistakenly eating beef. His family has reportedly stopped speaking to him until he is purified, a process that can be truly costly for him.

“According to my religion, I have to go back to my country and do sacred things for four to six weeks, and be purified by priests, so I can continue on my religious path. It’s a long process,” Paul said.

If Paul returns to New Delhi, India, he would have to temporarily close down his shop Headmaster Barbers, costing him income. In addition to that, he will need to pay for flights, accommodations, and meals on the trip. This is why he is begging Countdown to compensate him for at least his plane tickets.

A Countdown spokesperson addressed Paul’s issue in a statement.

“Unfortunately, in September last year, an error with our in-store labeling resulted in a pack of our beef mince being sold with both beef and lamb labels, which was incorrect and obviously very confusing,” she said. “We’re deeply sorry that this happened. We very much appreciate and respect Mr. Paul’s beliefs and certainly, there was no intent to incorrectly label the product.”

Countdown has since offered Paul a $200 gift voucher, which he refused. He has yet to hear from the supermarket about the plane tickets he wants.

“I don’t want to go to court against a big corporation. I just want to go home,” he said. “I understand this looks like a simple matter, but for me, this is very hard. I break my religion [vows] because of someone else’s negligence. I know my society back from my home will not accept me with this breach of the religion’s conditions.”

People Share Heartwarming Stories Of Strangers Doing Random Acts Of Kindness

#5 is truly heroic!

We can always expect our loved ones to do nice things for us. However, some of the best acts of kindness actually come from complete strangers. One netizen asked people about the kindest thing a stranger has done to them and the internet responded with truly heartwarming stories.

It all started when Twitter user Nicole Cliffe posted a random question. Nicole herself had her own story to tell. When her airsick baby puked on her pants when they were on a plane, a flight attendant lent Nicole a pair of yoga pants.

Sometimes strangers can be the kindest people we encounter.

Alabama Teenager Suing Clinic That Aborted Girlfriend’s Pregnancy Without His Consent

“I’m here for the men who actually want to have their baby.”

There is little doubt that abortion is a touchy subject for women around the world. However, one teenager from Alabama is trying to prove that men should be involved as well. The man is suing the clinic that ended his girlfriend's pregnancy without his consent.

Ryan Magers of Madison County, Alabama filed a lawsuit against Huntsville's Alabama Women's Center, their employees and the pharmaceutical company who makes the medication used in an abortion. According to the 19-year-old, the clinic had aborted his girlfriend's pregnancy although he had begged the woman to keep the baby. Although it is too late for Magers, the teenager says he wants other would-be fathers to have a voice.

Magers was ready to be a father but his girlfriend decided not to pursue the pregnancy.

Overall, the child spent 57 days in inpatient acute care, 47 of which were in the intensive care unit.

The tetanus vaccine has certainly prevented children from suffering from the bacterial infection for several years. However, an unvaccinated boy became the first case of pediatric tetanus in the state of Oregon in 30 years. Amazingly, the child's parents have refused any further vaccination although the boy almost died from the severe infection.

The case study was published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). According to the report, the six-year-old wounded his forehead while playing outdoors on a farm. The family reportedly cleaned the wound and sutured it at home.
