  • The “inevitable” bout will reportedly take place in Dubai.
  • Talks are ongoing and we will hear additional information about the match once everything is finalized.

The highly-anticipated match between Filipino boxing legend Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao and Irish MMA champion Conor McGregor is finally happening soon. According to a manager who represents both fighters, the two will finally face each other in the ring this year.

Talks are currently ongoing but manager Audi Attar says he is sure the dream bout will finally come true this 2021.

As Attar shared in an interview:

“I definitely believe it’s inevitable for 2021. Both fighters want it, that’s the key.

“You can’t make something happen or orchestrate it or choreograph it – which is the buzzword of this interview – you can’t fake that.

“If one side wants it and the other doesn’t, it’s not going to happen. But when both fighters want that fight to happen, why wouldn’t it happen?

“If the fans want to see it – that almost guarantees that it’s going to happen, right? As there’s enough interest to develop something there.”

McGregor, who has fought Floyd Mayweather in 2017, has earlier tweeted his desire to face Pacquiao. he even went as far as indicating a location.

“We’ve been having amazing conversation with stakeholders across the world, including the Middle East,” added Attar. “We’ll see where it goes. I’d be shocked if it didn’t happen in 2021.”

Meanwhile, Pacquiao also said that aside from Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford, he really wants to fight McGregor.

The 42-year-old boxer-turned-senator said:

“They’re my options, but right now I want to experience fighting an MMA [mixed martial artist]. I will also donate a big portion of my income to Filipino Covid-19 victims.”
