We are all taught at a very young age to respect our elders. In life, business, and beyond, we need to listen to them, be inspired by their experiences, learn from their mistakes, and lift them up. But what if these elders did something disrespectful?
Just take this old man in Vietnam, for example. He did the unimaginable to a little girl, who probably believed that she should respect her elders. She is also too young to fight and the old man was obviously taking advantage of her vulnerability.
A disturbing CCTV footage shows an old man looking like he was doing something indecent to a little girl in an elevator. After it circulated online, many netizens were understandably outraged when they saw the video. The incident took place in Ho Chi Minh City earlier this month.
In the CCTV footage, a little girl, probably around seven to nine years old, was getting into an apartment elevator, followed by an older man. A security guard can then be seen using his access card to help the little girl reach her floor. Believing that she was in a safe company with an old and harmless man, the security guard didn’t appear worried for the young child’s safety — he was wrong.
As soon as the guard exits and the elevator door closes, the old man, who has been identified as 61-year-old Nguyen Huu Linh, wasted no time in harassing the girl. He quickly approached her then bent down to kiss and hug her.
The young girl clearly looked shocked and uncomfortable. She even tried to push him away, but the old man, who was the former Deputy Director of Da Nang City People’s Committee, was very persistent. The girl finally got away from his caresses and stepped closer to the elevator’s door, but he grabbed her again from behind to pull her close to him for a hug. Fortunately, the door opened, and the young girl quickly ran out.
The condominium’s management confirmed the incident and said that Nguyen was staying in the building. When they went to look for him several times, no one answered the door.
The management decided to cut off the electricity supply to the unit so that Nguyen would come forward. And when the owner contacted them, the management told him about the video. After watching it, he confirmed that the man in the footage is his father and the suspect was later apprehended.
Nguyen was brought to the police station for interrogation. Although he didn’t deny that he was the man in the CCTV footage, he said that he was only “talking” to the little girl.
It is unknown if he was detained or sentenced for child abuse as of this writing.
