Flat Earthers Hilariously Debunk Themselves In New Netflix Documentary

What’s more satisfying than seeing flat earthers get debunked by experts? It’s definitely when they’re caught debunking their own silly theories themselves!

Apparently, a group of flat earth believers unintentionally proved that the planet indeed isn’t flat in Behind The Curve, a Netflix documentary that introduces “the growing, worldwide community of (flat earth) theorists who defend the belief… in a society who vehemently rejects it.”

In the said documentary, we meet Bob Knodel, one of the hosts of the Flat Earth YouTube channel. Using a laser gyroscope, a device that detects rotation, he tried to prove his flat earth theories but ends up debunking himself when it functioned the exact opposite of what he expected.

Knodel said:

“What we found is, when we turned on that gyroscope, we found that we were picking up a drift. A 15 degree per hour drift.

“Now, obviously we were taken aback by that – ‘Wow, that’s kind of a problem.’ We obviously were not willing to accept that, and so we started looking for ways to disprove it was actually registering the motion of the Earth.”

Despite of the obvious fail, Knodel remained firm in his beliefs. It looks like nothing can sway him, not after investing in the expensive device!

As he told a fellow flat earther:

“We don’t want to blow this, you know? When you’ve got $20,000 in this freaking gyro. If we dumped what we found right now, it would be bad. It would be bad.”

“What I just told you was confidential,” he likewise added.

You’d think that would be enough to stop them, right? But no, these guys are totally stubborn and go for another experiment that, once again, proves them wrong.

Towards the end of the documentary, we see Jeran Campanella, Knodel’s co-host, also doing a demonstration.
