One of the challenges that patients of Asperger’s Syndrome has is the capacity for self-harming. It may seem like a hopeless situation for some but Danielle Jacobs found a way to help herself deal with the problem with the aid of her loving dog, Samson.

She was diagnosed with the disease in 2013. She trained her 4-year old Rottweiler to stop her from hurting herself whenever she gets into her self-harming episodes.

“This is what having Aspergers is like,” Jacobs narrates on YouTube. “This is what’s considered a meltdown…I trained him to alert to depressive episodes and self harm not both but he alerted.”

Danielle found Samson from an animal rescue center in Phoenix, Arizona.
