The human body is quite amazing as it has its own natural way of telling you that something is quite not right. One of the ways that your body is warning you about potential health problems is through the eyes.

Here are eight (8) conditions of the eye that could tell you that something far more serious is happening inside your body.

#1. Persistent Stye

Styes are a bacterial infection characterized by pain and irritation. Usually, this condition clears up on its own in a few days. However, if a stye is persistent and does not go away after three months, it could signal a much more serious condition such as sebaceous gland carcinoma, a rare form of cancer.

#2. Blurred Vision

Having a blurry vision is not just a sign of aging. It could happen, especially to those who spend too much time in front of the computer. Science now has a name for it – computer vision syndrome.

#3. Bulging Eyes

If you feel pressure in your eyes as if they were expanding, this could be a sign of a thyroid problem known as Graves’ disease. In this case, it could also be hard to close your eyes which makes it bulge. If you notice this, visit your doctor immediately.

#4. Yellow Sclera

The white part of the eye is called sclera and there could be times that it is not white. When this part turns yellow, it most likely signals jaundice, which might tell that you are having problems with your gallbladder or bile ducts.
