Can you imagine earning Php 5 million or roughy USD 110,000 a month? Rad amount, huh? Well, that’s what Delia Santos is earning from her peanut butter business that started from humble beginnings.

Delia grew up in the province and came to the city to work as a seamstress to make ends meet for her family. Her earnings then were very little that sometimes, she can’t afford to buy the basic necessities of her family like food and medicines, among many others. Nonetheless, she pursued her goal of making her family’s life comfortable by finding ways to earn extra money. She sold candies and was able to earn Php 10,000 (USD 220) from that venture. She was later able to open a small home-based convenience store and in 10 months, she was able to grow her Php 12,000 (USD 262) to Php 60,000 (USD 1300).

Delia willingly shared her story with a local TV network and has since inspired many people.

Her big break came when one of her customers came up to her to sell a peanut butter business that is on the verge of going bankrupt. She took a leap of faith and bought it. She was left with five sacks of peanuts and two grinders. She distributed her peanut butter products to different stores and luckily, many patrons kept on asking for more.

But as they say, you can’t have everything. Delia and her husband suffered a major blow in their relationship and decided to separate. Bur Delia did not crumble. She used this opportunity to focus on her growing business. Now, she makes peanut butter from 250 sacks of peanuts per delivery and earns a whopping Php 5 million (USD 110,000) per month!

3 kilograms peanuts
1/4 kilograms butter milk
Salt
Red sugar

Procedures for making:

1. Mix peanuts and sugar
2. Add butter milk
3. Add salt
