Devastated Parents of Cancer-Stricken Child Commit Suicide After Their Son Died of Cancer

For richer or poorer, in sickness and in health… This grief-stricken couple took their oaths seriously, leading to their decision to take their own lives following the death of their nine-year-old son.

Vangheli and Nicholas’ son Christian Arava was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was just two years old. As the tumor progressed, the parents were notified that surgery was no longer an option. Apparently devastated by the loss of their son to a brain tumor, the parents decided to follow their son into the afterlife.

Vangheli was found lying next to her son’s body and covered with a blanket while Nicholas was found hanged in the kitchen. A 13-page suicide note detailing the heartbreak the parents felt when they discovered their son had a brain tumor was found in their apartment in Constanta, Romania.

A blog written by Vangheli seven years ago was also uncovered, wherein the heartbroken mom had written:

“I felt like I was dying myself when I heard the diagnosis.”

The last entry on the blog said:

“Our only hope Christian is a lucky child and the tumour will stop growing is now shattered. The thought every moment could be fatal, it drives me crazy.”
