Artist Max Zorn has an interesting choice of medium for creating his masterpieces – packing tapes. As ridiculously unbelievable that may sound, Zorn indeed uses the unusual medium and he has produced a lot of great stuff from it.

The Dutch artist has been active in street art and urban art since May 2011 and has developed the unique technique of crafting stunning visuals using several layers of brown tapes on acrylic glass.

It all began when he had the initial idea of sticking translucent tape art on regular street lamps. Soon thereafter, he has become a pioneer of the style, gaining online popularity and then being invited to showcase his works in art fairs and exhibitions across the world.

In a recent BoredPanda feature, Zorn was quoted saying:

“I’ve always been a big fan of using the context of a city as the backdrop for art. But I felt one aspect was underrepresented and that was street art that appears at night, when a city changes its face.”

Zorn also explained how he chooses images for his creations.

“I’m generally interested in the dynamics between people. I want to freeze a moment that initiates a story without telling too much… like a screenshot from a movie that sparks imagination but leaves room to decide where the story goes.”
