Chris Evans famously played a superhero in The Avengers franchise, but he has proven that he is also one in real life. When Piers Morgan publicly ridiculed Daniel Craig for wearing a baby carrier, Captain America is not having it.
Morgan tweeted a picture on Oct. 15 of the “James Bond” star carrying his baby in a baby carrier. The controversial TV host believes that there’s a manly way to be a father than wearing the carrier, but many begged to differ, including Evans.
Craig and wife Rachel Weisz welcomed their firstborn in August. The English actor was spotted out and about in New York City, wearing a baby carrier to carry his daughter, Ella.
While many were impressed with the actor for doing his daddy duties, Morgan wasn’t very impressed. In fact, he had some choice words to say about Craig for the way he carried his newly born child.
“Oh 007 .. Not you as well?!!!” Morgan tweeted, along with the hashtag #emasculatedBond and #papoose, which is British slang for child carrier.
Disgusted at the tweet, hundreds of proud dads replied to Morgan with photos of themselves with their babies in slings.
Chris Evans may not be a father yet, but he proved that one doesn’t have to be a dad to see how wrong Morgan’s tweet was. He posted a tweet of his own, noting that criticizing Craig’s manhood actually said more about Morgan than it said about Craig.
The Avengers star wrote:
“You really have to be so uncertain of your own masculinity to concern yourself with how another man carries his child. Any man who wastes time quantifying masculinity is terrified on the inside.”

Another “Avengers” Don Cheadle, who played War Machine in the franchise, retweeted Evans’ post and wrote, “Who hurt you, piers.”
Morgan, unsurprisingly, remains unconvinced and has continued his tirade against the “emasculating” papoose.
