Gay Brother Has Trouble Adopting, So Sister Volunteers To Be His Surrogate

30-year old woman Ashlee Mataele just recently gave birth to a baby boy for her brother David and his partner Brendan. The two struggled for years to adopt a child due to the fact that they are a same-sex couple.

According to the reports, David is already a father of three from his previous relationship. But after meeting Brendan, he immediately decided that he wanted to have a child with him.

Even today, for some reasons, same-sex marriage is still shrouded with this irrational stigma.

On a brighter note, the love is not one-sided because Brendan felt the same way about David. During his interview with DailyMail, Brendan said:

David had three beautiful children and I loved that I got to be a part of their lives as our relationship grew serious. But there was always a part of me that wanted to have a baby of my own.

David’s sister Ashlee expressed her hatred towards the fact that sexuality became a hindrance for the couple:

When I saw how much David and Brendan were struggling to become parents together, I knew I had to help. Some people think it’s weird that I gave birth to my brother’s baby, but I think it’s an absolute honor.

Luckily, David and Brendan found an egg donor to complete the process of Ashlee’s surrogacy.

Ashlee said that she wanted David and Brendan to be immediately bonded with the baby boy after his birth. So, after the cutting of the umbilical cord, they immediately brought the baby to David. The baby boy was named Rylee.

The moment that Rylee was placed onto David’s bare chest was magical.

After meeting his parents for the first time, Rylee was also given the chance to bond with his aunt. Overwhelmed with emotions, Ashlee said:

Looking down at him, with my husband John by my side, I couldn’t believe he was finally here. I kept saying, ‘look what we’ve done.

I was so pleased we had given such an incredible gift to two people who mean so much to me, to see and feel the love they had for Rylee from the moment he was born, I knew we’d done the right thing.

Thankfully, it worked out pretty well for the same-sex couple at the end.
