  • YouTuber Timothy Wilks, 20, has been gunned down in a car park while filming a prank video.
  • According to reports, Wilks and a friend approached a group of people while carrying butcher knives.
  • David Starnes Jr, 23, shot Wilks, unaware that it was just a prank.

This is the horrible moment when a prank went totally wrong and led to a man dying from gunshot. According to reports, 20-year-old YouTuber Timothy Wilks ended up being fatally shot at the car park of the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park in Nashville, US around 9:30 PM, Friday after he and his friend approached a group of people while holding butcher knives.

Authorities said 23-year-old David Starnes, Jr. confessed to gunning down Wilks citing self-defense as he believed he was in real danger. Apparently, he was not aware it was all a robbery prank for a YouTube channel.

Definitely not a good idea for a YouTube prank…

Trampoline park customer Emily Yeager also shared:

“This is like a huge kids area, and when we were in there, there were a ton of tiny kids and it’s just like that would not be a great idea. Especially if anyone was walking out here or something like that.”

The case remains under Investigation and no charges have been filed against Starnes so far.

In a media interview, a lawyer pointed out:

“I’m sure the people involved would like to characterize this as a prank. But it certainly seems to be a prank that went seriously awry.”

YouTuber Timothy Wilks, 20, died while filming a robbery prank.

Robbery pranks are pretty common (and attract numerous views) on YouTube, despite the fact that some pranksters eventually end up in serious trouble because of it.

Back in August, the Stokes twins – who have millions of followers on YouTube and TikTok -were arrested and charged after pulling two bank robbery pranks in one day.
