Jason Momoa Shaves His Beard Off and Fans Are ‘Heartbroken’

We’ve all grown to love actor Jason Momoa for his portrayal of badass TV characters such as Khal Drogo (Game of Thrones), Ronon Dex (Stargate Atlantis), and Declan Harp (Frontier). Plus of course, we know him as Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the DC movies.

With his long hair and beard, it’s easy to see why he gets all these interesting roles. Much to his fans’ shock and surprise, however, Momoa recently decided to get rid of his beard – and he did it on camera.

In a YouTube video, the actor showed up holding an electric razor and then began shaving his trademark beard off.

According to the 39-year-old star, he has not shaved since 2012. He finally decided to go for it and explained he’s actually doing it for a good purpose.

In the video, Momoa said:

“I just want to do this to bring awareness that plastics are ruining our planet, and I think I have a solution.

“I don’t want to bitch about it. There’s only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet as long as we recycle, and that’s aluminium.

“It’s 100 per cent recyclable.”

Plastic, Momoa explained, is definitely ruining our planet and that’s something we all don’t want to happen. So now he’s promoting water in cans.

Momoa also wrote in the video description:

“I’m SHAVING this beast off, It’s time to make a change. A change for the better…for my kids, your kids, the world. Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet.

“Let’s clean up our oceans, our land. Join me on this journey. Let’s make the switch to infinitely recyclable aluminum.”
