Toddler Gets Slapped While Learning Math Despite Begging To Be ‘Taught Lovingly’

Teach the kids right so one day they will become wise, but this should not mean beating them mercilessly just so they can catch up with the knowledge that we adults gained for decades. Bearing in mind that children start from zero knowledge when they start learning still seems to be an impossible task for some. As a result, some of us lose our patience and do things that are already out of the norm.

A little girl from India has become a victim of domestic violence and a disturbing video of a woman assaulting her was posted online. In the heartbreaking video, the little girl is being threatened and slapped while trying to learn Math. The toddler was reciting numbers “2, 3, 4, 5” repeatedly to a woman. It has not yet been identified though whether the woman is a mother or a teacher of the toddler.

A little girl cries while pleading a woman to teach her lovingly.

The violence gained outrage from numerous netizens as the video has since gone viral. The woman teaching her can be heard shouting. The poor girl then started to break down while pleading:

“Will you teach me lovingly? My head is going to burst out.”

The hand gestures of the little girl seemed to suggest the pain she was feeling as well as the frustration she was going through. However, the woman teaching her keeps pressuring her. Somewhere in the video, the little girl appeared to answer a question wrongly and she was dealt with anger as the woman shouts “5?!”

The little girl then realizes her mistake so she backed away and tried to explain herself. The woman, instead of listening to the girl, ended up slapping the girl. The helpless girl could only clutch her cheek as she continued to recite the numbers in tears.

The video has then been shared to different social media platforms.

One Stomper who reposted the video said:

“Parents and grandparents who do not know how to teach are ruining the child more than they realize… Rote is not learning and adults drumming [the same thing] in is not teaching.”

Even celebrities who saw the clip have also spoken up against the video. They criticized the woman for her violence and impossible treatment of the girl.

The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli who made the video viral on Instagram wrote:

“The fact that the pain and anger of the child are ignored and one’s own ego to make the child learn is so massive that compassion has totally gone out of the window.

“This is shocking and saddening to another dimension. A child can never learn if intimidated. This is hurtful.”
