The past few years have been hard on Johnny Depp. The Hollywood star went through a messy divorce from Amber Heard. Unfortunately, all the controversies led to Depp being fired from Pirates of the Caribbean 6. However, it looks like Captain Jack Sparrow could return in the Disney film.

Back in 2018, Disney decided to drop Johnny Depp from the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie. At the time, it was stated that Depp was removed due to the movie being a reboot of the franchise. However, many fans insisted it was because of all the controversies with Amber Heard.

But did Disney change its mind about Depp’s removal? Express reports that the House of Mouse wants the actor back. Pirates of the Caribbean already cast Margot Robbie as its lead star. However, the studio reportedly wants to reinstate Depp in the film because of all the online petitions.

Johnny Depp Saved by Online Petitions?

One notable petition already has over 463,000 signatures. It also calls for Johnny Depp to be brought back as Captain Jack Sparrow. In addition to that, there are more petitions. All of these petitions have over 20,000 signatures from Depp’s supporters.

There is no official statement from Disney regarding Johnny Depp’s reinstatement. However, fans are hoping his return in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 will be made official soon.

Johhny Depp was also removed from Fantastic Beasts 3 in late 2020. The actor issued a statement on his official Instagram account. In the message, Depp confirmed Warner Bros. asked for him to step down from the role of Gellert Grindelwald.
