Planning a wedding can be very stressful and expensive. However, one clever bride managed to make her wedding day truly special without breaking the bank. She actually created her own wedding gown made out of paper!

Maricel Capinig Abaño is a stay-at-home mom in Quezon City, Philippines. She recently tied the knot with Ronald Lucena Mata during a mass wedding ceremony where several couples were also married. However, Maricel managed to stand out because of her eye-catching wedding gown made of paper. Interestingly, it only took her three days to finish the dress.

Who needs an expensive wedding gown when you can make one out of paper?

Maricel designed the wedding gown and admits that three of her friends helped her finish working on it. The dress comes with a matching hat. The clever bride’s bouquet was also made of brightly colored paper.

The dress certainly caught the eye of netizens worldwide. Although the wedding took place in October, people still couldn’t get enough of Maricel’s ingenuity and resourcefulness.

“Very nice!!! Very practical and creative!! Why spend so much on a wedding gown if you are just going to use it once and then keep it in your closet afterward? It’s not the state of being poor but being wise enough to use your money for more important things and for your future,” one netizen commented.

Even the bridesmaids had the paper motif in their dresses!

Maricel also made sure that her friends and family joined in on the paper motif. Her daughter wore a skirt also made of paper. In addition to that, the bridesmaids wore dresses with similar paper flowers and the matching hat.

It’s great to see that you can still have a wonderful wedding gown without having to spend a fortune. After all, this clever lady probably didn’t have to spend a cent on her dress. There is little doubt that this creative lady will be a smart wife and excellent partner to her new husband.
