A A A

2020 is looking like a big year for blockbuster movies. As early as now, we can’t help but get thrilled with the long list of films in store for us.

For this article, we did the difficult task of narrowing the list down to 10 but fret not since we’re also gonna mention some of the other worth-watching movies at the end.

Go check out our list and tell us which one you’re most excited about!

#1. Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (February 7)

Although Suicide Squad generally received negative reviews from viewers and critics, everyone would agree on this one thing: Margot Robbie did great as Harley Quinn! Now the DC character is back on the big screen – with a new crew to boot.

Warner Bros’ Birds of Prey will also star Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya.

#2. Sonic The Hedgehog (February 14)

SEGA’s most iconic video game character finally gets a big screen debut. In this movie, Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) befriends earthling Tom Wachowski (James Marden). And yes, as you can see in the poster, Jim Carrey plays big bad Dr Robotnik!

#3. A Quiet Place 2 (March 20)

For the horror fanatics, this is an absolute must-see. We all know the first film was a massive success in the box office and we have a feeling this will do just as great. John Krasinski wrote and directed this one and stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy, and Djimon Hounsou.

#4. Disney’s Mulan (March 27)

The latest classic Disney character to get the live action treatment, Mulan’s trailer promises us with more action and no musical – unlike the original cartoon.

Liu Yifei stars as the titular character with Donnie Yen as Commander Tung, Mulan’s mentor, and Jet Li as The Emperor of China, among others.

#5. No Time To Die (April 8)

Daniel Craig returns as James Bond (for the fifth time – and some believe this is his last movie in the franchise). Rami Malek, who we all loved for his brilliant performance as Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, will be the film’s villain. So this should be pretty interesting!

#6. Black Widow (May 1)

It took Marvel long enough but beloved female Avenger Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) is, at long last, finally getting her own solo movie.

After her tragic death in Avengers: Endgame, fans will once again see the badass spy in action. A prequel to the events of Iron Man 2 and the first Avengers movie, Black Widow introduces audiences to new characters such as Red Guardian, Taskmaster, and more.

#7. Fast and the Furious 9 (May 22)

One of the longest running movie franchises out there, the Fast and the Furious crew are back again fo a ninth installment.

We are told the late Paul Walker, who passed away in 2013, will be making a cameo here and we’re curious to see how that goes.

#8. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run (May 22)

You only need to know one thing to get convinced about this movie: Keanu Reeves as a wise tumbleweed. Nuff said!

#9. Wonder Woman 1984 (June 5)

The highly-anticipated sequel to the smash-hit 2017 blockbuster is finally upon us! Gal Gadot stars in this new film set in the, as the title implies, 1980s. Watch the trailer above and we bet you’ll get hyped up.

#10. Ghostbusters: Afterlife (July 8)

After 2016’s failed attempt to breathe life to the franchise, the Ghostbusters are back on the silver screen, this time with the powerhouse cast of Paul Rudd as Mr. Grooberson, a seismologist investigating a mysterious earthquake. Later on, he meets the youngsters who are gonna take the mantle of the original Ghostbusters – who are set to make a cameo in the film.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg….

And we have tons more of exciting flicks to watch out for such as The Grudge, Bad Boys For Life, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Bill & Ted Face The Music, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Eternals, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Godzilla vs King Kong, and many others.

So yes, boys and girls, grab your popcorns and buy your tickets. 2020’s gonna be a wild ride!
