An upcoming conference in New York about coronavirus has ironically been canceled because of coronavirus. According to Bloomberg, the Council on Foreign Relations was expected to hold an event on Friday, March 13, entitled “Doing Business Under Coronavirus.’

However, the gathering has since been called off due to fears of spreading the virus. In addition to the said conference, the council has likewise canceled other scheduled meetings around the US from March 11 to April 3.

In a statement posted in the official CFR website, we read that “there are currently no upcoming events,” and interested parties are reminded to “check back soon” for further updates.

The state eventually implemented a 1-mile containment zone to suppress the virus which means, gatherings in schools, houses of worship, and community centers will be closed.
