Let’s all face it. Traveling is expensive and when you happen to be on a budget but would still like to experience the wonders the world has to offer, Google is your best friend. Budget traveling is the buzzword these days. It’s getting to go to places you want to go to without having to sacrifice your life’s savings.

Luckily, there are a lot of countries and vacation destinations one can go to which are tourist and budget friendly. We bring you the 10 cheapest countries to go to, stat.

One of the largest countries in Central America is now becoming a go-to place for budget travelers. Credit goes to its colorful towns, surf waves, and amazing culture. Oh, and it’s incredibly cheap there, too. Double rooms can be as low as $6 and meals can cost around $3.

A mix of eastern and western culture, delectable dishes, and spectacular and inspiring landscapes, Turkey is a place one shouldn’t miss. The famous shawarma is priced at $2 and hostels can be as cheap as $20/night. Transportation is very affordable, too!

Rooms can range between $4-40 depending on where you are located on the island, and food can be somewhere between $0.65-5, again depending on whether you plan to eat street food or at a local resto. Buses cost only $0.25, the Skytrain and Metro around $0.50-1.50 per trip.

Try visiting during April and May or September and October when lodging would most probably be cheaper. A dorm room can start at $8 and budget hotels can range between $30-50. Food is available in stalls and on the market for $1-2, or $4-6 in local restaurants. Transportation is also cheap – taxi fare costs only $8, and the intra-city line buses around $0.50-1 per trip.

Depending on your budget, a day in Indonesia can cost you either $15 or $20-30. Food is relatively cheap anywhere in the country, ranging between $0.50-6 per meal. Getting around can be a challenge, though, but there are several transportation options. You can take the bus, ferry or plane. Flights from Medan to Jakarta costs around $51 while a 12-hour bus ride from Cemoro Lawang to Java can cost around $18.

A dorm room bed can go as low as $8 and a double room can be around $40. Meals are as cheap as $5 and beer can bought for around $1.50-2.50, which can be even cheaper during happy hour. Buses and trains are very cheap at $1 per single journey. Entrance tickets to museums and tourist attractions are around $5-10 so make the most out of your visit to this beautiful country.
