This is the heartbreaking moment when a doctor picked up a 6-year-old child for Covid treatment.
As many countries continue to battle against the coronavirus pandemic, a 6-year-old boy from Cambodia has recently gained some attention online after his story went viral on social media.
According to reports we’ve seen online, the unnamed child has tested positive of Covid-19 after he was infected by his own mother. In the viral images, we can see the kid being assisted by health workers as he prepared to ride an ambulance.
In the photos, the boy can be seen carrying a backpack and holding a paper bag which contain his belongings. The health workers – who were wearing full PPE – reportedly picked him up from their home and then brought him to the hospital.
The boy, who was wearing a white shirt and a face mask, was noticeably all alone.
A post in a Facebook page described the scene as “heartbreaking” as the boy took the ambulance without any family member or companion to go with him.
Naturally, netizens couldn’t help but react on the viral photos, with many hoping he and his mom will recover from the virus as soon as possible.
One Facebook user wrote:
“Get well, little boy… Prayers for your fast recovery.”
Someone also pointed out:
“This young man is too brave!”
The names of the boy and his mother, along with their residence, remain undisclosed.
Meanwhile, an update from the page later informed followers that the child “is now staying in the same hospital room with his mom” and that a lot of people have sent “gifts to cheer him up.”
As of this writing, Cambodia has reported a total of 1,872 Covid-19 infections with 5 deaths and 1,056 recoveries.
Someone tried to open the door from the outside. Fortunately, she remembered her dad's tip!
