This is What Happens When ‘Ordinary Women’ Try on Victoria’s Secret Swimsuits

Victoria’s Secret angels are probably the envy of every women. Their mile-long legs, perfect curves, and irresistible smile make them the most sought-after angels on earth. I can’t help but admire those goddesses whenever they strut those sexy swimsuits on the runway.

Despite the judgemental culture of our society, six female BuzzFeed staff bravely tried on the swimsuits worn by Victoria’s Secret models and recreated their pose on a beach in Malibu. Just the idea of being judged because of your body is terrifying enough, but these women courageously subjected themselves to criticisms to send out an important message.

“We think it’s very important for women of all different shapes, sizes, and colors to rock these bathing suits and give an accurate depiction of what a beach body really is. So that’s what we did,” they wrote.

Six women tried to recreate Victoria’s Secret model shot in swimsuits.

It was pretty tough considering these are the original models.

Kristin: “It’s really hard to be objective about your own body — so when someone says something nice about you, you should believe them”

Nina: “Don’t compare yourself to the model. Very few of us are the model”

Sheridan: “You don’t have to look like Behati to wear a swimsuit. Do what makes you happy and you’ll be OK in the end”

Lara: “We may not all be models, but the world is a runway for ALL of us”

Allison: “I think everyone should get photographed on the beach in a bathing suit at some point in their life… it is a really fun experience that kind of helps you to get over any insecurities”

Kirsten: “Having airbrushed skin and zero fat doesn’t make you beautiful, having confidence and radiating that confidence makes you beautiful — ‘flaws’ and all”
