Although you need to invest time and money in order to do it, travelling is an amazing opportunity not just to explore a new place but to immerse yourself in a completely different culture. Meeting new people, trying different kinds of food, following customs, and perhaps observing odd practices and traditions are just some of the perks of travelling. Everyone should include travel in their bucket list.

One well-travelled man decided to collect 18 travel mistakes in the countries he visited in an attempt to warn future travellers. Sometimes, familiarizing yourself with a country’s guidebook and researching on the Internet aren’t enough for you to uncover these tips.

While some of the travel mistakes are quite bizarre, I find most of them rather amusing. For instance, in China, you are not to give someone a clock or umbrella as a present.
