World’s First Space Hotel With Bars, Cinema, And Spa To Open In 2027

The golden age of space travel "is just around the corner."

  • The Orbital Assembly Corporation is creating a luxury space hotel.
  • Thee Voyager Station is expected to begin construction in 2025 with the goal of opening it by 2027.
  • The space station will have bars, cinema, space, and many other amenities.

For most, a luxury hotel in space may sound more like a sci-fi film concept than real-life. But no, it’s definitely becoming a reality very soon.

According to reports, a hotel called Voyager Station will be the first of its kind in history. In fact, the said space station with a maximum capacity of 400 people is expected to open in 2027.

The Voyager will feature various amenities such as bars, cinema, gym, restaurants, and spa, among others.

Orbital Assembly Corporation (OAC), which is the world’s first large scale space construction company, has announced that they will begin building the space station in 2025.

As their official website tells us, the Voyager will be “designed from the start to accommodate both national space agencies conducting low gravity research and space tourists who want to experience life on a large space station with the comfort of low gravity and the feel of a nice hotel.”

The rotating space station will “produce varying levels of artificial gravity by increasing or decreasing the rate of rotation.”

OAC president and CEO John Blincow said about the ambitious project:

“We’re trying to make the public realize that this golden age of space travel is just around the corner. It’s coming. It’s coming fast.”

As far as recreational activities go, senior design architect Tim Alatorre noted that visitors should likewise prepare to “do things that you can’t do on Earth.”

“Because of the weightlessness and the reduced gravity, you’ll be able to jump higher, be able to lift things, be able to run in ways that you can’t on Earth,” he pointed out.
