Hospitals and clinics taking care of abandoned animals are nothing new but what makes this hospital in Atherton, Australia unique is that they take care of baby bats.

Yes, you read that right – baby bats!

We’re so used to seeing cats, dogs, and other furry animals look cute during hospital care but this is the first time I’ve seen bats swaddled in colorful blankets and looking so adorable. I mean, sure, “adorable” and “bats” do not usually go together but check this out and see what I mean…

All lined up with pacifiers on. Aww!

These babies are about to get some air and sunshine.

Aptly called Tolga Bat Hospital, the place takes in and houses fruit bat pups that are abandoned by their mothers or sick with tick paralysis. The volunteers nurse the babies until they are restored to full health, after which they will be released back to the wild. The hospital also houses retired bats who grew up in captivity.

Whoever knew bats could be this adorable, right?

Such wide-eyed cuties!

Hugging his brother, perhaps?

Pretty in pink!

Feeding them babies the right way

Seeing these cute babies makes me less scared of bats now. Hats off to these volunteers who make sure that these fruit bats stay safe and healthy.
