  • Dermatologists warn against doing it, because erection creams are not formulated for the mouth and that can cause serious allergies.

TikTok has always been the hotbed for stunts that could lead to serious consequences and this is one of them. User Jerry Mal shared a video showing him spreading erectile dysfunction cream all over his lips to make them look fuller.

He said that he saw a movie in which a girl puts erection cream all over her lips and made them plumper, so he decided to try it. He added that he forgot what the movie was called, but commenters have identified the film as “A Nice Girl Like You” starring Lucy Hale.

Jerry proceeds to put an unidentified cream on his fingers and then spread it on his lips. He said that his lips “kind of tingles. It doesn’t feel terrible, but we’ll see.”

After five minutes, Jerry was pleased to see his lips appeared to look bigger, putting his face closer to the camera to make the viewers see. He planned to wait for another five minutes before taking the cream off, but after three additional minutes, he decided to wipe it off because his lips were “burning really bad.”

He showed off his noticeably fuller lips after cleaning off his mouth.

Most erection creams are vasolidators, which widen blood vessels and increase blood flow. Now glosses designed to plump the lips work the same way – it contains irritants like capsaicin to increase blood flow.

But the main difference is that lip glosses are formulated for, well, the lips, and erections creams are not. Which is why a dermatologist, another TikToker named Derm Doctor, warns against it.

“I don’t know exactly which cream is being used in the video, but all erection creams work by using vasodilation, which increases blood flow to a given area,” he explains.

He added that the plumping is temporary, lasting for about an hour. He would not recommend it since the creams were “not made to be ingested or consumed by mouth and this probably not safe if it’s ingested.”

Dr. Ross Perry, GP and Medical Director of Cosmedics, said that “Putting erection cream on your lips in a bid for a fuller pout is utterly ridiculous and can be extremely dangerous for a number of reasons.”

He said that those who will try this could have an allergic reaction such as soreness, stinging, swelling, and blisters. Other side effects include headaches, blood pressure problems, and even possible heart problems.”
